Warner Music Group (WMG) is an American based global record company, also known as Warner Music. It is the third largest global music industry and is one of the 'big three'. They are home to a number of different record labels such as, Atlantic Records, Elektra, Rhino, Roadrunner, Parlophone Records etc. They have a catalog of more than 1 million copyrights worldwide.
Warner Music Group has had long running controversy between itself and YouTube and music streaming services such as Spotify, Pandora, Last.fm etc. Since 2008 when Warner Music began blocking or muting youtube videos containing music recordings that belonged to its labels, and then pulling their protfolio of artists and musico out of the streaming services, specifically Spotify and Google Music.
