There was not a huge amount we needed to plan for in codes of dress, as we were quite open minded to a variety of elements. The actors' specific clothes were not entirely important, as this was a music video, and as long as the actors followed our basic instructions on codes of dress then it would be okay. We also wanted a more natural kind of dress, so if we left the decision open to the actors, then it made the feel of the music video a lot more realistic. Our instructions for Josh were to dress slightly more formally, but still casual in a way, this meant that the chorus could still juxtapose with the verses of the song, as we had intructed James to dress a lot more casually, but still look fairly smart.
