Locations | Planning
When looking for locations, primarily we were looking for a small town with a few bars and shops. This would fit with the theme and narrative of the song as we could put our main charatacter in this environment. We were also looking for a location which provided a good amount of light, for example street lights, flood lights, building lights, neon signs etc, as we would be shooting during the evening or night. We initially had two specific locations in mind, but were unsure about travelling to one of them.
Canterbury Town Centre

Canterbury Town Centre was one of our first ideas, this was because we had a good idea that there would be a lot of bars around and also would have a decent amount of light (artificial) during the evening/night when we would need to shoot. The trouble we may have with this location would be travel arrangements, as it is not as close as we would hope for. This would mean a lengthy trip to get there and back, including costs, and if we need to have more than one shoot which would be likely then it would add to the issues.
Maidstone Town Centre

The second location we had in mind was Maidstone Town Centre, this would be our preferred choice of location as we live very close to the town centre and travel was not an issue as with Canterbury. We know the lighting would be good at night as we have a very good idea of the sub locations we would be shooting at within the town centre. The environment would also be good as we know that there is a number of bars/pubs and car parks or streets that we could use for the shoot. The distance of the location from our houses is also very useful to us as we can travel there very easily and quickly in the case of multiple shoots.
This is the location we chose to base our shoot primarily, and unless any plans were to change, then we would be using this location. It will make the production easier for us as multiple trips will be likely, meaning we can travel to the town centre whenever we are available to.
