Casting | Planning
Casting was a very simple part of the planning stage for us, as we decided to use friends for the cast of the production. Initially, we had ideas about using professional actors, and had contacted multiple actors/theatres about getting hold of an actor, however this proved problematic for us as it was taking more time than we had anticipated and we realised that we may have to pay the actors for their time, and with our personal limited funds this may prove to be an issue. This lead us to make the decision to use people we knew as the cast, which meant we could access them a lot more easily.
James Racine
Our 'main' character/artist, would be played by James Racine, we have a good relationship with James and this lead us to choose him for the main role. We knew he would often be available for shooting and this would be useful to us. He also fit the role rather well as we needed someone around his age or slightly older who could mime the words to the song well.
Josh Van Leeuwen
Josh would play the artist that sings the chorus in our music video. We chose Josh as we have used him for other productions and has proved very reliable. We know he has the ability to be on a shoot very often as he is easily available and has proved to be a good actor. This makes the production a lot easier for us.
